Accessibility
We want FishForesight to work for every angler, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification or high-contrast settings.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we check new pages against it before they go live.
What we have done
- Text and links meet WCAG contrast ratios in both light and dark mode.
- The page works with a keyboard alone, shows a visible focus outline, and has a "Skip to content" link.
- Every form field has a label, and sign-up results and errors are announced to screen readers.
- Each map image has a text description of what it shows and how its colours read, and each map carries a numeric colour scale.
- The layout adapts to phones and to text enlarged up to 200%.
- Nothing on the page flashes or moves on its own.
Known limitations
- Maps show values by colour. Each map has a numeric scale and a text description, but reading a precise value at a particular spot currently needs sight. A way to get the values at a spot as text is planned with the waypoint features.
- The spam check on the sign-up form is Cloudflare Turnstile, a third-party tool. It usually needs nothing from you. If it ever blocks you, email us and we will add you by hand.
